New College Lanarkshire
New College Lanarkshire will create at least two additional teams from local mainstream and ASN schools to be introduced to the world of robotics using the VEX V5 system.
Knowetop Primary School
Knowetop Primary School is home to North Lanarkshire Council’s Visual Impairment Service and will develop ‘Eye Can Code’, the authority’s only coding club accessible for both visually impaired children and their peers.
Newmains Primary School
Newmains Primary School will build on its current offering of Scratch, micro:bits and Barefoot coding by creating a series of activities using Sphero indis and Sphero BOLTs.
Stane Primary School
Stane Primary School in North Lanarkshire will deliver a new Robotics After School Club to teach programming skills to pupils across multiple years. Using Marty the Robot, participants will tackle a series of challenges.
St Brendan’s Primary School and Nursery
St Brendan’s Primary School and Nursery will offer a coding club for primary and early learners. Children will learn to develop creative coding solutions using Swift Playgrounds, Sphero BOLT and indi robots and InO-Bots. A selection of sessions will also be offered as family learning opportunities.
Rochsolloch Primary School
Rochsolloch Primary School will purchase their own set of micro:bits and accessories as well as Sphero BOLT robots and iPads allowing children from all stages of the school to take part in the new Digital Leaders Club with an emphasis on older pupils supporting younger pupils..
Muirhouse Primary School and Nursery
Muirhouse Primary School and Nursery Class in North Lanarkshire will use Bee-Bots, Blue-Bots, and Sphero BOLT robots to engage and inspire young learners. The children and their families will be introduced to coding concepts and then asked to apply this knowledge to the programmable toys.
Edinburgh Science Foundation
Edinburgh Science Foundation will deliver activities featuring Marty the Robot across their Primary, Secondary, and Festival channels. Over 4,000 young people across multiple Local Authorities will have a chance to programme Marty to walk, dance, and even navigate an obstacle course.
The Institution of Engineering and Technology
The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) will grow and further develop last year's supported project – FIRST LEGO League Explore for 6–9-year-olds.
St. Andrew's Primary School
St. Andrew's Primary School in North Lanarkshire will develop a lunchtime club for pupils ranging from early to second level of the Curriculum for Excellence.
Scottish Council for Development & Industry
SCDI's Young Engineers & Science Clubs will provide young people in Glasgow an opportunity to investigate energy usage in their school or home and then use the micro:bit to create a solution to reduce their consumption
Glenboig Primary School
Glenboig Primary School will create a Minecraft: Education Edition After School Club
Balmalloch Primary School
Balmalloch Primary School, a rural school in North Lanarkshire, will be creating an after school club looking at new technology and ways the world is changing because of this technology.
New College Lanarkshire
Building on their previous grant award, New College Lanarkshire will continue to grow the VEX Robotics EDR extracurricular programme in Lanarkshire to inspire young people aged 11-16 in coding and robotics.
Firpark Secondary School
Firpark Secondary School will be developing a SheBot After School Club for S1-S4 girls using the new VEX Robotics EDR V5 platform and VEX Coding Studio.
New College Lanarkshire
New College Lanarkshire will expand their VEX Robotics programme and enable 8 additional teams from secondary schools across Lanarkshire to take part in the VEX Robotics Competition.
