YMCA Tayside
‘Tech Drop-In’ at YMCA Tayside in Perth & Kinross will be a unique experience for young people to engage with a variety of digital technologies.
Kettins Primary School
Kettins Primary School in Perth & Kinross will purchase computer equipment to give 30 young people from this small, rural school the opportunity to take their coding to the next level.
University of the Highlands and Islands
The University of the Highlands and Islands Digital Lend-A-Lab programme gives educators an opportunity to engage learners with digital tech through a variety of micro:bit based activities. The Labs include all the equipment, activities, and training required.
Edinburgh Science Foundation
Edinburgh Science Foundation will deliver activities featuring Marty the Robot across their Primary, Secondary, and Festival channels. Over 4,000 young people across multiple Local Authorities will have a chance to programme Marty to walk, dance, and even navigate an obstacle course.
Blairgowrie High School
Blairgowrie High School in Perth & Kinross will develop both a co-ed as well as a girls-only Robotics Club to help address negative stereotypes and the gender imbalance of women in tech.
SSERC
SSERC will organise and coordinate an extracurricular competition based on the VEX GO platform.
Edinburgh Science
In addition, Edinburgh Science will also deliver a touring workshop in Aberdeenshire and Perth & Kinross focussing on coding as part of their Generation Science programme.
Civic Digits CIC
The Big Data Show by Civic Digits CIC will engage around 1,000 11-13 year olds while exploring cyber security and associated data skills.
Scottish Council for Development & Industry
This exciting interdisciplinary project designed for P1 – P4 pupils uses the context of lighthouses to introduce them to various STEM concepts, including electricity, light, sounds and computing science.
Raspberry Pi Foundation
The Raspberry Pi Foundation will create 76 new after school Coding Clubs. Currently around 4,500 children across Scotland aged 9-11 years old benefit from this project. These new clubs will help reach at least another 1,000 pupils by the end of April 2017.
Apps for Good
Apps for Good will deliver courses in Aberdeenshire, Highlands, Orkney, and Perth & Kinross teaching young people to build, market, and launch digital products, from apps to IoT devices.
